The Senior Policy Council (SPC) oversees the University’s policy governance process and advises the President concerning the approval, implementation, revision, or decommissioning of University and institution-wide policies.
Policy owners should engage the Office of University Compliance early in the policy development process and submit final drafts before the policy submission deadline. The Policy Owner Submission Checklist is intended to ensure all new and revised policies are ready for Senior Policy Council review.
If a proposed new or revised policy applies to UConn Health, the policy must first be approved by the appropriate UConn Health policy committee before being added to an SPC agenda. This process will affect the Policy Submission Deadline. Contact policy@uconn.edu early in the process to coordinate.
